Default How much more hp......?

how much more hp does a standard 93 octane Brenspeed tune add over their 91 octane tune.... if any? I was just wondering since i live in California where I'm unable to purchase 93 octane gas. I can't see it being more than a few extra HP, all it is going to do is advance the timing just a smudge right???

One of the techs at Brenspeed told me that there's a bigger difference between the stock 87 tune and the custom 87 tune then there is between the custom 87 and the custom 93 tunes, if that tells you anything. And from my own seat-of-the-pants dyno, my guess is about 5-8 RWHP difference between my 89 and 93 tunes at best. But then, those 2 tunes pull differently at different RPM ranges, so your not really comparing apples to apples.

hmmm i didn't think of that... so do you think the 93 pulls harder in the higher RPM band?

you can have more aggressive timing adv and better safe guard the motor from pinging or detonation at the higher RPMs with the 93 tune...JMO

I feel that my Brenspeed 93 tune pulls harder above about 4K-4.5K RPM as compared to my 89 tune which seems to pull harder below the 4K-4.5K band. I'd definately run the 93 tune if I took the Stang to the track but for my style of driving, the 89 tune does me just fine.

This thread is convincing me to switch to a 93octane tune...

...and to never live in California.
