? about the hood

Default ? about the hood

as im driving on the autobahn i noticed that on the sides of my hood are loose and they lift up and down a little. wondering if this is normal. cuz i pulled over and check to see if i did not close them right, but the hood was shut right. like i said, was wondering if this is normal

Yeah, it's normal.
You could always raise the hood bumpers on each side to attenuate some of the shaking...

Above 100mph though, it will always shake.
The air flow is too great because of the "mouth" style of the front of that car.
The aluminum hood is also too light for that air flow.
All of those combined, make it almost impossible to shake without hood pins at higher speeds.

Having said that, if your latch is caught properly, your hood won't fly open...

The air gets trapped under the hood and thus makes it shake at high speeds.
3 guys from my local club did something easy and fixed the problem.

They removed the rubber seal at the back end of the hood ( near your windshield ) and it lets the air get out from underneath the hood. Shaking problem fixed..

Here is the 'hidden' solution.
WMS 'hidden' hood pins.
They release when you open the hood with
the inside OEM hood release lever.

I was going to get those, but I heard a few bad things about those (read on another forum when doing research.). Thats why I am going with the scott drake pins.

will removing the rubber seal at the back allow water to get under the hood??

...or you can add one in front of the hood to minimize the amount of air that goes underneath.

This is where the success of those lies in...
You're a bit off and you can't open your hood

You actually want them to release a tad before the latch itself, for safety.
