For Texas safety inspection, specifically window tint...

20.32 Window Tinting.
All 1988 or newer model vehicles that have window coating, tinting, or sunscreening applied to the windows must be inspected for the following:
1. Inspect for and reject if:
.a. Glass coating or sunscreening devices on windshields:
..1) Extends downward beyond the AS-1 line or more than five (5) inches from the top of windshield on vehicles without an AS-1 line. Measurements shall be taken from inside the windshield; or
..2) Is red or amber in color.
.b. Glass coating or sunscreening devices on windows:
.Windows immediately to the right and left of the driver, which open, have less than 20% light transmittance.
.c. Check calibration before rejecting vehicle

That is direct from the Texas DPS.

My rear window is 5% and I haven't tinted my quarter panels or driver/passenger side yet. I'm going to do a bunch of things once the weather warms up and I'll post pictures for the first time. I definitely want to do the windshield tint, thanks for the great idea... now if I only had the Stangpede vinyl lettering

I believe mine are 15 on the sides and 30 in the rear. I haven't had my inspection yet here in Texas, so we will see.

I'm going to just see what happens when I get down there and worse case, I'll rip off the tint on my 2 windows up front and get them redone in something else. For now, I will just cross my figures and hope for the best. Until then..........I'll enjoy the nice dark tint throughout my car

Default Got tint?

I have 20% on mine I love the look of it and it does really help w/ the blaring sun. If I do get a ticket for it than I will go legal on the door windows but here in Pa its like 70%. Its like why bother w/ that but I guess I would still do.
