Default Tire Width

My buddy just bought this car which has stock 18" wheels. He wants to put a larger Nitto rear tire on. Can he put a 295 on a stock rim or does he need a 10 inch wide rim?

I can't answer your question, but I'd just like to say that is a great look car. Every time I see a nice looking GT/CS it makes me kick myself in the *** for not ordering that option.

I think 255 is about as wide as you can go on the stockers without getting dangerous.

275/45 is the maximum size approved by several tire manufacturers for a 8.5" width rim (stock 18's)

I'm running 255's myself.
