Default Water Temp Gauge with SC

What is your temp at crusing? My temp on the freeway is 189 constant but it gets up to over 220 when im at a stand still for a while like at a drivethru. Im have the mishimoto radiator. Just wondering what your temps are.

Usually around 180 cruising; it will get up to 190 before fan kicks on, then cools right back down to low 180s. But that's with a aftermarket 180* t-stat in place of the stock 192* I had.
This is with a FMIC and supercharged, but stock radiator.
Check your fan temps in your tune, too; you should be able to tweak when your fan turns on.

Mine hits near 180 and climbs a bit at a stop. After I start moving again it drops right back down to around 180. Stock radiator and intercooled S/C...seems the car runs cooler now then before the S/C....I guess it is he new 160 thermostat that came with the FI kit

Your kit came with the 160 tstat? It usually doesnt come with it right? How does a thermostat actually work?

Yes I think it is worth it. Its twice the size of the stock and disipates heat much quicker than the stock. Right when i drive off from a stop my temp drops in a matter of seconds.

I thought it did as my tuner/installer changed out the stock one for the one in the whipple kit (unless it is different from stock in shape and placementor just new for proper cooling) I should check the site......regardless the car seems cooler at operating temp with the whipple thermostat (not by much) and a thermostat opens when it gets past the point where the spring in it (the part itself) expands and open the thermostat to continue and cool the motor by circulating the coolant. That is a bare bones explanation but I believe that covers the basics....someone correct me if I am wrong.

checking website now.....

Hmm im guessing my whipple kit came with the 160 stat too then but I am seeing higher temps than you. Did you install you temp gauge on the block?

If they offer it here....maybe they put it in the kits? I have a gen 1 whipple H.O. for an 06GT and I cannot find anything on the site....other then this
http://www.whipplesuperchargers.com/...sp?ProdID=1157

makes no mention of a thermostat for the kit and it is not listed...I can check when I get home about what is included in the kit... and cant say for sure where the thermostat is as I did not install the kit. (would have liked to been there for the install but work 12 hr midnights and have no time)

I also have the gen1 kit for the 06 whipple. I remember you had the whipple before me so if your kit came with it im pretty sure mind did too. I dont want to order it if I already have it.
