Default Kinda Dissapointed

I just received my chrome tail light trim from Atlanta Auto Accessories and I'm kinda confused. I was under the impression that the chrome sat pretty much FLUSH with the tail lights. When fully seated these ones are raised 1/2 inch. Sometimes things look far different in person than a photo. This is the photo on their website. Below that are two pictures of what I bought.

Please tell me your opinions.

ive never really liked the chrome around the tail light to much anyway. more into the blackouted look with the tint overlays or the covers.
but from the pics on the internet i was under the impression that they were flush.

Mine are flush.

But I like the way yours looks sticking out like that. I think that's more like how the old stangs were. I'm sort of wishing mine stuck out like those now that I see how it looks. Oh well. Both ways look good.

Mine are flush as well. Are you sure they sent you the one for you car and not another year?

Hahaha that's a mistake I would surely make.

There's someone who recently one-offed their taillights to look like the '69-'70 style that were separated and had high walls around each light. The raised look works, imho.

I think they look better sticking out based on the photos. Like SirKnight said, gives it an old school look. Got any pics from farther back?

I don't think yours it looks too bad... its different, maybe if they were painted black they would look better?

To those who have the flush ones. Where did you buy them?
