Default headlight replacement bulb install?

so it's pretty much straight forward? take out each head light and replace the bulbs? anything I should be aware of?? I just got some 7.5k ultra light/blue HID bulbs and want to replace the stockers, already did the FOGs lights- they look great. Thought the head lights were easy but was wrong.. advice and expertise from those whom as swapped them out??

Looks kinda funny right now because the FOGs are light blue and the head lights are stock..

thanks.

umm i've changed my headlights bulbs a few times going back and forth between hids etc and its very simple. Took me about 5min per headlight. The headlights do not need to be removed from the car.

I've never replaced stock halogens with HID's so I couldn't say whats involved. Normal swap between different halogen bulbs is about 1-2 minutes per bulb or less.

Blue fogs... I have to laugh. Maybe it LOOKS nice but in really bad conditions they'll hinder you more than help. 3000K provides excellent contrast in the dark during rain or snow conditions.

You said you're replacing them with HID's. If you were JUST doing a bulb swap, ti couldn't be more simple; just twist the bulb about 1/4 turn and out it comes. Then just unplug it, plug in the new one and put it back in. Like I said earlier, I don't know what else you have to do for HID's.

Default Bulb change

DO NOT touch the glass part of the bulb when installing new bulbs. If you do it can cause the new bulb to fail early

just twist the bulb like 30* counter clockwise if you are looking from the engine bay out. you will feel it undo itself then you just pull it out and unclip the electrical connection. like others said, dont touch the bulb

Personally I wouldn't do it. I would only replace the OEM bulbs with Sylvania Silver Stars or a good HID setup. Here's why; Several here have done this mod only to ruin there headlight buckets from excess heat from the aftermarket bulb (reflector will melt and deform) The reason for the Sylvania bulbs is becase the run about the same temp or a little cooler than the OEM bulbs. The HID setup runs even cooler, believe or not. I have been there and had these same problems, including the fogs (which was ugly, the metal shrouds came loose and had to have the whole light replaced because of the aftermarket bulb). I have installed the Sylvania bulbs and they do make a slight difference. They are whiter than the stock bulb. You be the judge, just know you have been warned, seriously! (-:

Footnote: If you decide to do this anyway, I would at least make sure your aftermarket bulbs are the same wattage as the OEM or lower.
