battery
hello out there.. im new here.. but not with having a stang.. I have an 06 gt. I tucked it away for the winter, and on occasion have tried to start it to find the battery dead... I have charged it and then i had to reset the reset button, and all was good. Is this something with the newer stangs? or should i be concerned. thanks.

oh no! another person with dead battery syndrome 
. don't worry, though; this problem is, unfortunately, very common (my battery just up and died not that long ago too). the batteries ford used in at least the 05-06 s197s tend to die easily. i believe it's a warranty thing, but if your out of your warranty, you'll just need to buy a new one.

hmmm... it was fine when i parked it. And with all this horribly stupid cold air. i havent bothered to start it... Is this because it wasnt started or is this truely a battery prob. Should i have removed the bat when i parked it..

it's a battery problem; for some reason, this type of motorcraft battery discharges quickly for no apparent reason. when mine died, it was in the summer/fall and i only had it sitting for about 3 or 4 days in between starts. with these batteries, one day they will be fine, and the next they will be dead. i don't know if removing the battery would have helped, but with the problems these batteries have had, i doubt it would have made much of a difference. i'd just buy a new battery (optima if money isn't a question); i haven't had any starting/cranking problems since i changed mine.

I would replace it with an Interstate if it were me. Or a Diehard. Some people use Optimas but I think they are overpriced.
Also, when you park the car make sure you turn off the stereo system entirely before you shut the engine off or open the doors. The Shaker stereo system has a tendency to keep sucking current off the battery if you don't do that.

yeah, optimas are overpriced, imo too (they are like 160 bucks), but from what i've heard, everyone who has one (in any type of vehicle: car, truck, boat) has had absolutely no problems. i bought one of o'reilly's 5 year batteries (70 or 80 bucks) and have had good luck with it so far.
