Cold air intake question
#2
From what I understand - it would depend on the tune you go with.
If you buy a setup that doesn't require a tune - you can use any gas you like -- but if you go with a more aggressive tune, I believe you would have to up it to the properly matching octane.
... but of course I may be wrong.

So which tune do you have? or which do you want? and lets take it from there. If you have an 87 octane tune use 87, if you have an 91 octane tune use 91 octane, etc...see the pattern

I dont mean to steal the thread but i have a question. What happens if you have a 91 octane tune and you get that racing fuel? Sometimes i get like $20 of it and then fill the rest with the high octane. Does this hurt anything?

why would you do that? There is no performance advantage to putting any higher octane fuel in your tank than you are tuned for.

Just saying you car isn't like a dog - it won't love you any more or perform any better just because you give it a little "Scooby snack" of race fuel.

Run the octane that the tune calls for. If you want to put in a higher octane, the only thing it'll hurt is your wallet. But if it makes you feel better and you can afford to, be your own guest.
