Default how low is too low ?

So im planning on dropping the car.

Looking at Eibach coils and was wondering what is a decent level without having it be too much of a PITA.

Their pro kit at 1.3" front and 1.6" rear?

Their sportline kit at 1.6" front and 2.0" rear?

I also have to consider with drop of 1.6" up front, the camber bolts may not be able to correct it all the way.

Any ideas?
THoughts?

Places to get similar springs for cheap? TIA !

I run Eibach Sportlines and can tell you that there are plenty of Speedbumps and Driveways here in Portland OR that I have to steer clear of or take VERY slowly. For a DD, I would say that SL's are probably too low (I would change it if I did it again). I have modded about about every piece of my suspension, and did not have an issue (but I am definitely the exception). With almost 2" of drops in the rear, you are correct in projecting the camber plates may be needed to correct. You also may need an adjustable PH bar, Brace, and Upper/Lower control arms. Emphasis on "may" there BTW LOL.

For me, the Pro-Kit is the perfect setup. It sits low, but not too low, so it doesn't scrape every driveway and speed bump you come across. I've only bottomed out four times in the three plus years I've had them installed. I run 18" wheels.

At first I only replaced the springs, but there was way too much bounce, so I went ahead and did the the complete Eibach system (shocks and struts). Obviously the ride quality will be stiffer than stock, but it doesn't beat you up and the return you get for the aesthetic appeal is well worth it.

I haven't looked back since.

Remember, its not just the rim size but also the tire sidewall dimension that determines your ride hight. The lower the tire profile the lower your ride hight.

I was wondering, wouldn't the correct way to measure lowering changes be to measure the distance between the floor and the top of the wheel arch? I saw them do this is a story about lowering an S197 and when I went out and measured my GT I had 4 different measurements! Back end, where I am too loo with just Pro-Kits was 27 7/8" left and 27 3/4" right. The fronts were also different by a 1/4".

Can you all measure yours and post for what is too low. Mine is but I keep wondering if my stock undercarriage is just hanging too low! Plus there's a bar wrapped around what might be the driveshaft that I didn't see on the Mustang that they had on their side at the autoshow. I think that is what grinds when I pull out of a sloped driveway into the street. I'll tak ea photo and post here today!

I scrap occasionally with frpp 1.5 inch springs. Even taking a sharp incline or speed bump at and angle, it will still scrap the exhaust pipe right behind the cats.

What is this part?

This is what I've been scraping and had to pay to get the dealer to reattach it after it got mangled.
Do all S197's have this bar around their exhaust?
