Need HELP with allignment !!
So here is my dillema.. Recently my car started to pull to the right. At first I thought it was the pressure in the right tire. Put some air in it as it was a bit low and it took care of it. For like 2 days, or so it seemed.
Well I finally noticed that I had to hold the steering wheel a tad bit to the left to go straight. Holding it straight would slightly pull to the right.
So I went to the closest allignment place.. Which was Sears..
$70 down the drain there anyways. They didn't fix anything. And on top of everything
the mechs were a couple of dumb sh$3ts anyways... They got in a pissing contest with me about my car not having camber bolts.. I had to get under it to point them out to them, then they started to scratch their head in disbelief.
Anyways, I left and went to the local Ford dealership.. Granted I'm not in my home town at the moment as I had to travel to pensacola.. ( goodbye to the show going on here tomorrow too btw
)
Dealership told me I may need to buy a Camber Set kit which is around 400-500 bucks..
I hope that's just BS..
And they said my bumper to bumper warranty does not cover it..
Someone please give me some ideas as I am OUT of them, and I wouldn't want to throw $500 bucks on something that may be covered by the waranty or better yet be a hell lot cheaper.. Thx in advance for all the advice..

I will call that number to see what's up. Thx..
They said anything that has to dea lwith allignment, brakes etc ( wearable stuff ) is not covered. I can see how brakes, tires and stuff like that. But if the fixed factory camber bolts are messed up that should be covered.. I'll see what they say.
anyone else had this happen to them ? Any more suggestions ?

if you find someone who knows what they are doing they can elongate the holes and get it lined up, so you are not going to the show? if you are going to be here "I am about 40mins from pensacola" monday I can get you in my buddys shop and he can do it...
Well, first of all, if you have an aliqnment problem, you probably have a toe problem, based on what you are saying and not a camber issue. Did you get measurements at Sears? Your camber should be around -0.5 to -1.5 degrees to be in spec. At stock height, you're probably around -0.7*.
Adjustment camber bolts will be useful when you lower up to about 1" up front, but you shouldn't need them yet at stock height.
It's typical that a curb can be hit when parking, and then throw off the alignment.
Find a local reputable shop that knows how to align Mustangs and go there.
Was the car always like that, or did it just start happening recently?

06elnr, If ford gives me the BS thing monday I'll def talk to you. I'll swing by the show but won't enter it. not because of the allignment persay, but someone decided to key the whole driver side of my car this week too..
tx zstang :
Sears actually did adjust the toe as they said it's the only thing they can do.
These are the numbers they had
front left
cabmber -1.3
caster 7.2
toe 0.00
SAI 16.0
front right
camber -0.9
caster 7.3
toe -0.01
SAI 15.6
Looking at the sheet, the specified values are a bit off.. and when I asked them if they adjust the camber and get the values to the specified numbers, should that fix the problem, answer was yes, again though this is at sears when a minute earlier they told me the new mustangs don't have camber bolts lol..

Are you talking about item #1, the lower strut mounting bolts?

factory with adjustable camber bolts.

Just regular bolts and non stotted attaching points.
The workshop manual states that the lower strut
attachment points can be elongated to the marks
to provide for additional camber adjustments.

Adjustable camber bolts for the S197 are all aftermarket.
Thats why there is an aftermarket market for adjustable
camber bolts.... S197s dont come with adjustable camber
bolts, persay. The ford way is to slot the attachment holes
and tighen down the hardware when the camber is within
factory specs. If you have to slot the holes for proper
alignment, something else is tweeked out of factory specs.
Bad news.

they are tight. Loose bolts would but you would also notice that
pronto as excessive front end noise. Something is bent or
out of alignment like the upper strut towers, the rear attacment
point or hydro bearing is bad or the front pivot point
for the reverse L is bad.
