Need a new battery
So I did a quick search and didnt really find the info I was looking for. My battery finally gave up and its time for a new one. Which battery's are you guys running and do you like them? Im leaning towards the Optima Red Top but Ive heard mixed reviews. What are some other good battery's? If you have a suggestion, which model # did you get that fits our cars? Thanks!

did your original battery give any warnings that is was about to expire?
And I've seen most people going to red tops but I'd love to get a yellow top for matching color reasons. Is there a downside to them? Other than probably costing more than a stock replacement.

Yellow tops are a little overkill IMO, even the Red tops are pushing it. lol. Only reason I want the Red Top is that I have a pretty serious system in the car, so it needs a good battery.
The one I have in there now is still the original battery. Being that my car is an '06 but was purchased at the end of '05, Id say its done a pretty good job. lol. It just slowly started getting worse and worse and now wont even crank over the car sometimes. Tomorrow she gets a new battery, just trying to see what everyone was running.

Most run the red top or the yellow top.....the sears diehard one has worked for all my other cars and flawlessly actually (all had 1000+ sound systems) and I never had to replace it for the life of the car. (had same one for 7 yrs)
Cant recall any other types or brands that stick out that would be helpful in your situation

+1 on stay away from the Wal-Mart AlwaysCrapOut (Everstart). I also think the Optimas are a bit overkill unless you have a really, really powerful audio amp and sub AND tend to run the system with the engine off. Otherwise, a DieHard, Interstate or Delco are the way to go.

My battery died last week, Motorcraft BTX 96 R, and I replaced it with a Motorcraft BTX 40 R. It's a larger battery so the battery blanket didn't fit but it has 590 cca vs the old batteries 500 cca and a 100 month warranty. I just removed one of the spacers in the battery tray, other than that I had no issues.
