"If" your head unit is like every other one out you will have to bipass the safety lock out for video. Your head unit had a wire that needed to be hooked up to your E-brake right? Just disconect that wire from your E-brake and connect it to a ground and now you will be able to use your camera whenever you want.

Here is the deal rford426, It's illegal to play videos/DVD's while the car is in motion on LCD screens mounted up front where the driver can see them so any in dash video system has to have a "video lock out" switch which is that wire they tell you to hook up to your E-brake. What it does is to keep you from seeing video any time the E-brake is off, once you pull up on the E-brake and set it you can watch videos. But, as I posted above you can very easy by-pass it and watch videos anytime you want but, if you get pulled over by the cops and your video is running or they see you running one as your driving be rdy for a ticket.

My Avic-D3 has an option under the nav side to choose to view the camera while I'm driving. I forget the exact option since it's still in storage but I think it is one of the view toggles where you choose what type of map display you want...
I'm probably taking it out of storage tonight so I'll check to see what the exact option is for mine.
