Default Is X pipe worth it?

So I'm pondering my next mod and am thinking that an X-pipe might be and easy, inexpensive option. I already have a set of axlebacks and love the sound. For those of you with X-pipes, was it a worth while mod? What are the noticible changes it made to your car? Thanks

I was a die hard "h" man, but on these 3v's, the "x" can sound great..some say raspy and drone, but i have the o/r x with pypes mid mufflers, and i love it...surprisingly it isn't too loud, until you open her up! i wouldn't suggest an x with chambered mufflers, unless you keep the cats! is it worth while? i think so, and no, i didn't lose any bottom end torque. good luck

i have the pypes X. Ive had it with the Old series 2 chamber flows and i have it with the mid muffler system.. Yes it can be raspy with both.. if you want less raspyness just go with a set of high flow cats welded in or just get a catted xpipe.... (still waiting for someone to get a prochamber with mid muffler system !)

Sorry to steal the thread here, I have a bunch a catted Bassani x-pipe on order, to bolt up to my 3" cat-back, anyone running a Bassani x-pipe? How does it sound and did you notice a difference in power? WMS (Calgary, AB) said it should be good for 12-15 horse, and give a noticable sound change, cant wait for it to get here, also have a bunch of other stuff coming as well (Foose Wheels, 3.73s, WMS Ram Air & Tuner, LCAs, Lowering Springs, Panhard Bar, Lightbar, shifter, etc...) ...anyway sorry to steal the thread OP

On our cars there really isnt that much of a jump of HP. the old 2v yes but now not soo much! your looking at mayby 5-6 tops. As for sound its clean but depending on what Axle back you get will change everything. You said your 3" catback .. wich one do you have ..???

I wanted the flow of a X, but the "sound" of a H - so thats why I picked up the prochamber. It came in yesterday in nice condition, but the chamber is a little off :P Looks like someone was drinking on the job or something. It shouldn't do anything about the airflow, but its just weird.

Just my 2 cents

well if you have the pypes violators...i would go with a high flow cat system...UPR just came out with a high flow x pipe and magnaflow makes a good one also ...the high flow cats will help you not to lose your throttle response and back pressure...i tried the straight threw mufflers with the upr o/r x pipe and it was way to raspy and the gas pedal felt mushy...good luck
