Default to stagger or not to stagger

I'm about to order the RPM 505 wheels in a 19" flavor (chrome) and the question is to stagger or not? 8.5 front and a 9.5 rear. I have a road course here in town that I'll be taking it too on occasion, every 3 months maybe, am wondering if the ability to rotate the wheels would be a good thing. http://www.wheelsnext.com/images/whe...505_HS_2_W.jpg

I don't know if that staggered setup is good or not for the racing you'll be doing, but the more miles you put on your car on average, the more I'd think you'd want to have the ability to rotate them, unless you can easily afford to buy new tires when necessary.

I've been under the same dilemma. No, I don't race or anything, but I couldn't decide whether to go staggered or keep the ability to rotate my tires. Ultimately, I realized I don't drive my car anywhere near enough to have the need to rotate my tires, so I'm going to go staggered when I buy wheels (My car is a sunny day/weekend car). In 2 years of owning it, I've put 6,000 mi on it, 1000 of those being a trip to Chicago and back, lol.

Well Travis, I'm a little biased here but if i was you I would go with the staggered look
Say a 9" 255/19 up front and a meaty 10" 285 or 295/19" out back. It will look awesome man....!! Rotating tires ?? NAAAAAAAAAAA !!

Only thing bad about them being staggered is if you did indeed want to rotate your wheels tou would then look out of place with the bigger ones up front.

I have a staggered setup, 20X8.5 in the front and 20X10 out back. I only wish I would have gone with a wider tire. 295X19 would look very nice. Yes you can rotate them, flipp them around, it just gonna cost you a few more bucks.

If you're serious about open-tracking the car - or if the tracking bug bites you good - you'll want all four wheels and tires to be the same size.

The dragstrip & cruise look doesn't work quite as well once you start taking corners hard.

Hmmm I wondered for a while if it was worth it to do that or not... what size tire do you have on the front? Any issues with clearance or rubbing?

staggered looks cooler and sometimes the wider tire is needed. but it also makes the understeer worse (not to mention the rotation factor). i am non-staggered
