Default engine block cleaning

does anyone know the best way to polish the engine block, have first show coming up next week, i know a guy in the club i am in has some chemical combo, won't give his info though becuase he does not want any competition= jackass

I just spray the engine with Simple Green and then rinse it off. I use a small brush for the hard to get spots. Be sure to cover the pcm, altenator, battery and air filter when you rinse the engine. Wipe with a towel or microfibre cloth. I also use a detailer spray to ad luster.

Watch out for the coil packs. I did this with my 01 and I fried two of them... :/
