Default header sealant

hey guys im wondering if it would be a good idea to use some high temp header sealant when i put my new headers on. when i do this to i put the sealant on both sides the gasket? i plan to use the stock gasket and locktite on the header bolts when i bolt on the parts. i wnat to do it right the first time and not have to worry about a leak.

thanks

I got copper RTV from advance auto parts and put it on both sides of the gasket and on the header mating flange around the ports. No leaks so far... It also helps to use the RTV to make the gaskets stick to the cylinder head or the header as you try to install the header on the car. Otherwise, its impossible to keep those stupid gaskets in place.

Loctite on the headers bolts? Whoa...no... Use some antisieze on them to make sure you can get them back out years down the road, and toqrue the bolts. You should be good at that point.

stage 8 locking header bolts and 3 months and 4,500 miles later, no complaints and even better no leaks
