Default Computer Flash

Ok, I know it's been talked about, heck I even used the search, but why the heck won't Ford tune your car after any installs, even the ones they'll do? Wouldn't it be better for the car anyways?

I mean they say go ahead do it yourself and void your warrenty, but they won't do anything.

Any suggestions?

I don't think Ford wants the liability of having a Dyno shop or high performance shop under their name. People would come out of the wood work and try to get them to do all sorts of lamo stuff and then say 'well you tuned it for me, therefore it's under warranty' Plus, people that want tunes, may go to the race track and beat the crud out of their car.

Ford will sell the ingredients (parts) but not the 'recipe' (dyno tune) because there is more profit in the pieces and less liability rather than the whole.

Drug stores will sell everything you need to make crack but don't give you the recipe....

Yeah but as Hawgman has said numerous times it doesn't void your warranty and furthermore they have to prove it.

I just wanted to let all those that are flashing their cars, because if there is no apparent cause, but your engine fails, they'll blame it on what you did, and it will be up to you to prove other wise.

simple, use a hand held flasher. if you have to take your car in for warranty work then flash back the factory tune.

I talked to my service manager where my mustang was purchase about the tuner and he informed me that if the engine failed it would be their responseability to prove that it was the tuner that cause it. He said if it is done right it will be fine. Furthermore he informed me that he hasn't had any trouble with the air induction kits or tuners. Now if I can convence my wife. Or maybe least get it as a birthday present this November.[IMG][/IMG]
