Default Pony emblem

Has anyone put on a new pony emblem to their grill? Looking at one of the custom painted ones online. Didnt know if I'd have to remove the entire grill to do the install

Yes, you have to remove the grill. It's the only way to get to those annoying little clips that hold the emblem on.

alright, thanks I kind of figured after looking behind at the angle last night. When you get those clips off would you happen to know if the new pony clips just snap in like the original?

yes they do. The old emblem i ended up bracking the rods off of (plastic) because the tabs fit so tight I could not back them off

The hardware gripping the pins is non-user-removable without
breaking either the clips or the pins.
The new pony should have new clips.
You can access the whole schebang from under the stang
reaching behind the grill without removing it.
Just be sure not to cut yourself on or bend any
of the A/C condensor fins. Masking tape will
cover them until you are done. Just dont forget to remove it.

There are holes in the grill that the pins go into
like the new emblem will. Just hope they send you
new speed clips as well....

Ken,

Do you offer a member discount? I love the look of the skeleton pony. It would look great on my black stang!

Ironically I had looked at your web site. In fact I am concidering the skeleton emblem. My only concern was the install since I have no prior exp. with taking apart the grill. When you ship the item does it come with instructions on such and also do you send the emblem with the speed clips as mention'd above that would be needed for the install?

Thanks

I put the skeleton on my car a while back too...had to break the little posts off and the clips were fine to reuse. They're still holding tight after about 2 years. I took the grill out and it was my first time doing anything to the car so I had no experience. It is pretty straight forward and came out easy.
