Default Strange Scratch...

I've been looking at this damn scratch directly under my trunk for a few months now. Its a relatively deep scratch, cant be buffed out with wax. The funny thing is that it runs the length of the trunk directly under where it closes... I'm thinking that somehow my rear bumper is catching air and rubbing on the trunk. Has anybody else had this problem?

Do you have a picture of it by any chance?

Did you try pulling up on the bottom of the bumper to check your theory?

I dont have a picture on me right this second. I'm at school now but i can get one later if it holds up and post it into my picture gallery.

I haven't really messed with it because I've been busy with other things so I havent pulled the bumper up. I think if that's the problem ford should repaint it for free because its kind of obvious that its not just a regular scratch.

Hard to tell without seeing it but if it was the bumper I think it would rub and not scratch.

Ive had the same problem! seems like the trunk makes contact with the bumper sometimes...probably just from closing it too hard! I had a scratch on my black car that wouldnt buff out no matter what i tried.. now im really careful about the way i close the trunk and havent had any problems with my new stang yet!

So it sounds like i probably cant blame it on ford and have them repaint it. I cant get a good shot of the scratch right now its kind of nasty out.

Same problem here. I'm more careful when I close the trunk now.

I have a similar problem although it just looks like the paint is dulled from contact atm, not a full scratch.
