Default Bassani Street Muffler owners, come on in

Do your mufflers rattle or trumpet bad?

Mine tumpet so bad at 2,000-2250rpm I have to wonder if they're defective. They also rattle fairly bad at any rpm.

And I just had all my midpipe connections welded. The few clamps still under the car are really well done. I'm convinced the rattling/trumpeting is from the mufflers. Certainly sounds like its coming from back there.

2 family members I know have them on their 08 bullits. Not sure exactly sure what trumpeting is but I know theirs do not rattle. One of them had a problem with the hangers not being aligned right. Did you make sure that the mufflers arent actually touching anything?

The mufflers are not touching anything.

I have noticed one of the hangers doesn't have all its points of contact to the muffler welded on. The hanger is secure, but there's about a 2 inch section of that hanger that runs un-welded along the top of the muffler. Perhaps that's it.

I sent Bassani pics and a video. I hope to get some answers today.

Not the same application but had a full Bassani exhaust on a C5 Vette and had no problems with it at all.

I installed Bassani BX 4840 mufflers on my 92 LX 5.0 (stock headers and H pipe) and within 500 miles the passenger side muffler started to rattle only when cold! Two years later that muffler still only rattles when cold... I have found alot of similar Bassani rattling complaints all over the net... I really expected much better quality from Bassani based on the high cost of their mufflers... I am just waiting to upgrade from headers to tips... At that time I will switch to Flowmaster Super 44s!

Longtubes and a blower are not helping your situation. If you had cams it would be even worse. You may just need some resonators before you over axle pipes. Even with HF cats I had loads of trumpeting after LTs. Pypes m80s do wonders.

I had these on an '07 GT. I had them welded in. There were no rattles whatsoever. These did drone between 1,800 - 2,000 RPM's. I had 4.10 gears too.

Not sure what you mean by trumpeting.
