2008 Bullitt Molested
I'm new to this site and just purchased my first mustang. I made a oath with the devil and swore I would not do any mods to the car since its numbered. Well that lasted 200 miles. Ford spend a lot of money perfecting the sound of the car but to be honest it sounded like a stock GT just a little deeper tone. So I went to my local speed shop and looked over several different types of axle backs and settled on a pair of JBA stainless dual chamber mufflers with four inch tips. Well the install was a bitch it took the tech an hour, 50 min just to get the tips lined up perfectly. The dreaded passenger side was the worst. He managed to get the tips aligned where the fit nice and perfect in the cutouts of the rear bumper. He had to even curl up the metal in the passenger side sub frame so the tip wouldn't make contact with the metal.. What a pain in the ***. It sounds much better like it should...If these mufflers are California sound legal you have to wonder why they just didn't put these on from the factory??? I still feel a little guilty though.........Whats everybody's thought on changing mufflers on these numbered cars???

This is all opinion, and everyone thinks differently....
But I don't see any reason at all to keep a car stock if you want to make changes. If you are holding yourself back from making changes, then you are not happy with the car you bought.
Do whatever makes you happy. There are a lot of Mustangs on the road, and chances are slim that you are going to sell it for 200k when you are 60. Enjoy the car, make it look and perform like you want, and be happy...that's all that matters.

well you can always change them back, but i would never do something to a limited car that couldn't be undone, like a body kit or interior stick on stuff, exhaust, wheels, cai, tuner, ect. can all be undone with no damage. I would always keep the parts so that when time to sell or if you wanted it back to original form, you could do it, without messing it up.
