LTs Vs Shorties
along with home install vs paying a shop

Im on the fence about what to do, i think my dad and i can install shorties easily, and maybe LTs.

Agree.... Let them hassle with it. From the stuff i have read about it. It just seems easier to let someone else do it. JMO

LT header install and easy are not friends. It was not easy, but I can say that I have done it twice. It will be a good fun long day though. I cant justify paying someone $350+ if I can do it myself.

I got a steal with my setup. Less than $950, purchased and installed for MAC Ceramic Coated Long Tubes, Custom O/R H-Pipe, and MAC SS Axle-Backs. You live and die by that cost of installation.

I got LT's and installed them myself. If you go with Kooks there won't be any suprises with clearance issues.

I installed my JBA shorty headers by myself on ramps and jack stands. It was time consuming, but not excessively difficult. The hardest part for me was trying to get the gaskets to stay on the header flange while i put the jba's up against the head to install them. I had to get my girlfriend to hold the gasket in place while i mated up the headers.

Fastlane in Houston wanted to Charge me 745 dollars to install my kooks LTs... That was motivation enough to do it myself... and I loved it.

Look it is not a "skill difficult" install, but a PITA install thats why it takes that long....
