Default Tire Size

Can somebody tell me what the widest tire I can saftley put on my factory 18" polished bullet rims are. I know nothing about tires and the more I try to learn, the more confused I get. I am in need of tires and I love the old muscle car look of wide back tires.
Looking for info from anybody and everybody. Chime in.
Thanks

It depends how wide your rim is. I have 17x10 in back, lots of room left

I have a guy offering me a pretty good deal on (2)245/40/18 and (2)275/35/18. What do yall think about these? I think they are Nexxen or Nexen N3000.

not for the the stock rims IMHO and they are short as well, 25.7" front and rear, which is 1.5" shorter than stock
