Emissions question
I'm running w/ an O/R ProChamber and I need to switch back over to the catted X-pipe from Bassani that I had before, in order to pass my state inspection. Am I going to run into issues w/ the 93 tune I have from Brenspeed? The tune was set up to bypass the cats so I didn''t have a CEL. When I switch over to the catted X-pipe will I have to install the factory air intake and reset back to a factory tune in order to pass?
Yes, you will need to retune to stock since your tune turns off the O2 sensors...also you may not pass emissions with that bassani pipe, depending on your state! if your gonna go through the trouble to switch midpipes, why not just use the factory pipe???? that one will pass no questions asked (provided you still have it ) JMO.
You'll also have to run it through one or more "drive cycles" so that the OBDII will in "Ready" status. OBDII-based emissions inspections will fail your car if the system is not "ready" even if everything is 100% stock and functioning perfectly. Achieving "ready" status might happen in less than five miles/ten minutes - or it could take much longer with at least one cold start following a complete cool-down (think overnight) being required.

My guess is that you will fail. I have a 93 tune from breenspeed and I just failed yesterday. I was told to return the car to stock and run it for 60+ miles to get everything back to normal again....and when thats done just put the tune and cai back on again.
I never had a problem passing the emissions w/ the Bassani mid pipe before, and I don't have the factory pipe. Either way I think you are all right and I'm going to fail this time. No big deal. same amount of money and you get a voucher for so long to get everything fixed. Thanks for the help.
Vasman, depends where you are. Not all loactions do the OBDII inspection yet (this also applies to all of you out of state; your locality might not do it, and if not, you do not need to mess with your tune).
Here in Texas, 2 central counties near Austin, counties around Dallas-Ft. Worth and Houston, and El Paso are currently the only areas that do OBDII tests. Look up the link from the TXDOT website or somewhere; it's online, the counties as well as the inspection criteria.

it's sort of a pain in the ***, but after switching back to basically a stock mustang, hence putting the cats back on, stock air box and re-tuning to stock, I passed w/ flying colors. The LT's are on back order for another 2-4 weeks so I might just bare with it till then to convert back to an O/R pipe and dyno tune it.
