Default problem with the gt maybe s/c

My gt with a saleen s/c is having a problem at WOT. It does not have pull power and the exhaust is popping real bad. The air fuel is around 11.5 at WOT.The car is stock other then the super charger. Car only has 24k miles. Any idea what the problem might be?

are your plugs stock as well? maybe switch to a colder set as in the whipple h/o set up. Also recommend a GT 500 fuel pump. If you run too lean under high boost, something under your hood is going to go boom.

my boost gauge needle stays pretty much in place, so i think the belt is ok. i have the brenspeed saleen. so i have the colder plugs and the gt500 pump. i am not hearing much under the hood. Just the popping sound from the exhaust. I was thinking maybe the cat is clogged (but i find that hard to believe with only 24k miles)?

11.5:1 is running rich. 14.7:1 is considered optimal. Check your plugs to see if there fouled, check for dirty air filter or any other air obstruction. I suppose S/C belt slippage could also cause this as not enough air will be entering the engine.

I have a Brenspeed saleen as well and my air fuel runs around 14.9 at idle and is down around 11.7 at WOT. I was under the impression that those numbers are normal.

Early on I noticed a high pitched wine sound when I began to depress the accelerator at light load. It happens at basically the same point in acceleration every time. I talked with the guys at Brenspeed at length about the situation and we decided it was just air being sucked into the intake. We also talked about belt slippage a little and Dave stated that if you were going to have belt slippage it would be under heavy load (WOT). It sounds like that might be your case. If you were getting a lot of rain (which most of the country is right now...lol!) that could be causing some temporary belt slippage which would go away when things dry out. Has it been very rainy in your area while this is happening?
