Was just out messing around. Deserted stretch of highway. As the tach approached 6000 rpm in 4th gear I happened to glance at the speedo. 130 mph. The car is so smooth and solid I had NO idea I was going that fast. It does make sense given the 3.55 final drive ratio, the tire diameter and the rpms though. Had her less than a week. Managed to put on about 350 miles already. Can't wipe this stupid grin off my face.

BTW absolutley NONE of the dreaded hood shake that others seem to be experiencing.

 

What's the build date on yours? Is it possible Ford quietly fixed the hood issues later in the build?

 

My car was built the first week of June.

 

hmm... I have a May build. I really need to find some deserted highway and find out for myself!!

 

Had mine up to 100 yesterday and no hood shake that I recall. I have a late April build date.

 

i didnt know anything about this hood shaking...but ive had mine up to probably 105 or 110 and i didnt notice any hood shaking, not like i was looking either though.

 

I've posted this before, but...I have yet to notice any hood flex. I had my first one pushing 140 mph, and my new one I've only had up to 110 mph, but still no flex on either.

I'll try and get out to the desert this weekend, and get up to 140 - 150 mph.

 

Mine does anything over 100 or maybe 90?

Nice looking shine on that car. How many coats did it take? I'd shine mine up like that but it has been in the 90's for a long while here and I sweat bad just dusting mine off.

 

I wash my car about three times a week and polish it about once a week. I'm obbessed. Right now I just got the weather report and were calling for clear weather for two days so I'm preparing to wash it now so my co-workers can enjoy! thanks for the complement.
