Default Ipod/aux hookup?

hey everyone. My radio transmitter is on the frits and making me really mad and I was curious if there was a male-male slot somewhere in the 05's for the shaker 500? I can't seem to find any or is there a hookup behind the head unit? thanks

does it not have the aux slot in the center console you can use? I have my charger and aux cable in my center console running out the side and i just leave my ipod in the passenger seat or cup holder.

For 05 and 06 you have to buy additional electronics to hook up an AUX connection. I like the iSimple ISFD73 (link to it at bestbuy, don't know if you can get it cheaper elsewhere). It comes with an iPod specific connector to allow you to control the iPod through the radio, and a second connector that is stereo (female RCA and stereo mini male). You can hook both up, or one and a sat/hd type radio (with some additional wiring that's not included).

I've got mine set up with the iPod cable running to the arm rest cubby, and the stereo connector running into my glove box. I use that for hooking in my GPS. Install takes about an hour total if you've not done it before, and you'll need some small zip-strips and some double sided tape which are not included in the kit. Oh, and there's some updates for it that aren't shown in the manual (at least, not in the one that came with mine) if you decide to pick one up, I'd be glad to go over it with you.

Ahaha. Male-male. (end immature comment)

(begin more related comment) Yeah, that's been kind of frustrating me too. I have an 06 with the Shaker1000 system. I actually posted a thread on this back in the general tech forum on this very subject....I got linked to the isimple. So I'd say let's give the simple a shot.

But until then, my Van Halen, Aerosmith, and Guns N' Roses greatest hits albums will tie me over and give me my GT+Rock music fix.
