Default Fuses?

Hey guys,

I am doing the final touches on wiring up my aeroforce wideband kit. It has two power wires one constant 12v and one switch 12v(i was told i can use both switchable sources). The question is: what are 2 good 12v switchable fuses i can tap to get power to my wideband controller?

Keep in mind i want both to draw power only with ignition on AND i am using fuses from the interior(located in the passenger side kick panel)

Thanks a lot!!!!

if you are using switched for both, why do u need seperate sources?

fuse 13 in the kick panel.

IDK, i figured two power wires to one fuse might overload the source....?

if that was the case then whatever fuse you taped into would be overloaded also. You will be fine using the same source as long as you wire correctly (get an add a fuse kit from Autozone).

Okay i guess another question is does wireing up a wire to a constant source(say the cigarette lighter) drain the battery? thanks

Well the directions said to wire one to a constant source and one to a switchable source. Now I'm going to follow the directions and do that. My questions now are

1. would wiring to a constant source(the cig lighter) drain the battery
2. whats a good constant source(cig lighter?) and whats a good swithcable source?

Thanks a lot!

Overload the source with a miniscul gauge amperage draw??
Never in your lifetime....
Wire it into what ever you would like to.

Okay so now i don't have to be worried about blowing anything out. Im guessing then that the gauge would not drain the battery even if it's wired to a constant source?

Lets see, the guage probably only pulls 1/2 amp.
The battery is rated for lets say 250AmpHours.
The stang draws 1.25 Amps all by itself with the key off.
Adding another lets say 1 Amp max (thats really pushing it)
for the quage. That means with a fully charged battery, the
stang should be able to sit for 250 divided by 2.25Amps equal
111 hours or 4.6 days until the battery is completely dead.
The rating for the mustang battery is more like 390Ah so do the math.

The gauge does not seem to be getting power. What is a good 12V constant and a good 12V switch?

I used the power mirrors(constant) and the ac cycle(switched). They dont seem to work. Also they are both 5amp fuses so on the add-a-circuit I used 5amp fuses as well. Was that the right thing to do?

THanks!!!
