Taillight blackouts
Hey guys,
I have searched the posts and it's pretty equal among GTS covers, spray tint, and vinyl overlays. I have a black GT, I've used VHT nightshades spray tint on the front and rear markers. I like the looks of it but it is not glossy like the GTS covers even tho I put 5 clearcoats on them. I see that the GTS covers have a poor fit. What about the tint from americanmuscule, xpel, etc, is the installation easy and fitment good? Please give me your thoughts.

A while back I was following a guy with blacked out taillights and I almost rearended him when he hit the brakes and I couldn't see the brakelights. Way to dangerous for me. Too many guys who are distracted will not see you braking. JMO
^ Good point.
Having them sprayed with a mix of black & clear coat allows more light to show through compared to VHT. Also, I had my taillight reflectors only sprayed with two coats while my brake light got about 4 coats. So in the daytime it looks the same but at night the reflectors stand out even more.

I actually did mine with window tint from Wal Mart.
No pics available but I will tell you they look the same as the painted ones here.
The ONLY hard part is getting the very edges to not wrinkle.
The key is to use a hair drier and use it RIGHT when you put the tint on.
It causes the tint for form to the light where you want it.
Cost? 10 bucks for the tint...a couple of bucs for a razor to cut it.
You probably already have dishwashing soap to wet the tint with.
Get 20% tint.
Looks blacked out pretty much and when the breaks are hit you can see RIGHT through them with no problem.
