Default Convertible top squeak

I recently purchased my 08' Vista Blue GT Convertible, and LOVE IT, but I have a bad squeak on the right side of the convertible top, where it connects to the windshield when closed. Has anyone had this problem, and how did they fix it? I don't have the top up much, but when it's up, every bump you hit, it goes crazy squeaking. Anyone know about this problem?

New to me. Did you buy thru dealer? If so, recommend you have them take a look at it...

Can you isolate what is making the noise? Is it the latch or the trim along the top?

it seems like it may be the latch, it sounds like metal on metal squeaking, and it's very loud when hitting a bump. I am planning on taking it to the dealer, but they don't deal with a lot of convertibles here in Iowa, so I was hoping for a little info before I take it to them.

If the latch was forced at any point, it could be loose and that is what you are hearing over the bumps. Can you make the noise when the car is parked? Better if you can so the dealer can hear it.

Be sure to get it fixed under the bumper to bumper warranty cause vert tops are very expensive to fix.

It could be a couple of loose bolts. Check the bolts in the area and clean where the top meets the top of the windshield. A lot of dust collects in that channel. That works sometimes. However, the convertible top on a Mustang will always squeak because they are not solidly attached to the car. I have 59,000 miles on an '06 GT and mine rattles like crazy. They get loose with age and since our cars were not designed or built with German quality, it's something you are going to have to live with. Trust me, you'll learn to ignore it.

3M makes a silicone spray that is AWESOME at lubricating rubber and metal. I out it on the entire rubber seal and also the latch points. This would be an easy and cheap start to your problem. Good for lots of other stuff too!

Here is a link so you can see the stuff I am talking about:

I think you have a real problem that is covered under warranty.

See the advice on the other thread I just gave about this similar issue.
My vert hasn't made any noise up front.
