Default TB problem?

hey guys, i just had my hoodpins installed a couple days ago, and i finally got to open it up on the freeway to check the sturdyness, 110 and not the slightest float anyways... as i put the petal to the metal i noticed that every now and then, sometimes it would do this and othertimes it wont, but when i stomped on it, is would accelerate like usual... but then i would hear an imediate surge of air and my RPM's would skyrocket, but when it would do this, it almost looked like i was accelerating slower then if i were to press the gas but not all the way. does anybody know why i would hear all the extra air intake, and a drastic raise in RPM's but minimal acceleration when i stomp on it?
