Ok..

I've SEARCHED. I've READ... I've got an SCT Xcal2 from my last car andI've asked the tuner and it will be fine... I've decided on the Bama tune not only from this board, but from several others..

Here's the deal... I would LOVE a CAI, but cash is a REAL problem... I can get a tune for $50.. That's not a problem..

I'm on the fence.. For a 89 Torque or a 91 Race tune with stock airbox..

Here's my thoughts.. Gas is still not stupidly expensive YET... So I'm thinking about the 91 Race (we don't have 93 gas here)...

Later, when I save up, I can get a CAI and adjsut the tune.

Make sense? Will the 91 race tune with stock airbox be OK?

 

91 Race will be fine.


Just make sure the Tuner knows you have this installed and they compensate accordingly



You'll see a few less HP than with a CAI, but the Car will be just fine

 

Member sent me a PM to explain differences in tunes.. Went with a 91 Torque tune...

Now.. I don't know if the tune just changes the throttle open ratio or not.. but DAMN.. it woke up the 3v 4.6...

VERY NICE modification... finally get past the no-torque bottom end on these engines... Throttle response is GREAT!!! Can actually "blip" the throttle now for downshifts...

Yup. Agreed. This is a NO BRAINER mod to do to ANY GT! I actually have to back off normal driving lauches as I bark tires now...
