Default Interface adapter for Pioneer?

Hey I have an 05 GT with the shaker 500 system and looking to install a Pioneer AVH P6000dvd. On crutchfield they talk about an interface adapter since it has factory amps. I'm wondering if this is something that I really need or will everything work without it. Thanks for any help

I have the p4000 and I had no interference with anything when it was in my car. I had the shaker 500 too, you should be fine

What kind of connector did you use to hook to your factory connectors. Did yours have 2 separate connectors for the radio?

The interface you're talking about is the PAC C2R-FRD1. They aren't cheap, and you don't need it. Use a 5V voltage regulator and save your money.

Also what connector do I use to go from the radio to plug into the cars connectors?

You can pick up the voltage regulator at Radio Shack. Use a Metra 70-5520 harness.

Cool, I'm getting the AVH P6000DVD on Wednesday. I also got the ipod cable. My plan is to keep my 30GB ipod 5th gen in the glove box at all times so it's hidden and out of the sunlight. Just control it from the unit and it should keep it charged too.

I'm not going to use my factory amps. Instead I have a 1200W amp I'll be using since I'm also hooking up a 12" sub.
