Angry Ouch ...........my rear!

Well thanx to Staten Island roads my rear end diff cover was damaged and now I have a leak
I am driving down to Mustang week early friday morning, so I ordered a new diff cover and I am using Mobil 1 Synthetic Gear Lubricant LS 75W-140. Because it states "Recommended for many limited slip applications. For certain high level LS applications, additional limited
slip additive may be required if axle chatter is observed", I also got the friction modifier additive. Anyone using Mobil 1 Synthetic Gear Lubricant LS 75W-140 ? Any problems? Is your rear quieter with the Mobile 1? No pun intended.

PS Motorcraft Synthetic Gear Lubricant 75W-140 was 21.95 a quart.......ouch! The gear oil cost more than the diff cover. I got the Mobil 1 Synthetic Gear Lubricant LS 75W-140 for 12.95 a quart.

I used Mobil 1 for a year or two with no issues. And it did require the friction modifier.

Now I'm using Royal Purple; but it also costs more than Mobil 1, less than motorcraft though.

You should be good to go.

Thanx guys. I am glad I got the friction modifier. I just didn't want noise issues or chattering, especially since I am driving 660 miles the day after I fix the car.
