You should be able to clean off the plastic pieces if you can get them removed.

If not - the carpet shouldn't be too hard to find or replace - check late model resto, or google for it.

As for the black plastic pieces - look in the junkyard for a wreck......probably the cheapest option.

Sounds like a good time to dynamat the trunk.........

what kind of paint? Latex?

It may peel off the plastic with a heat gun.

You can clean it off everything probably. Stuff is mostly water soluble so just take the carpet out and wash it. For the plastic either wash it or use paint thinner. Should be able to get it all out no problem.

Depending on the plastic, the paint thinner could eat the plastic. Polypro is not thinner resistant. Don't recall if ABS is or not.

House paint is latex

Another reason that anything like that (paint, motor oil, etc) goes into ANY of my vehicles in some type of catch basin...

You can buy house paint that is Latex or Enamel. If it's enamel you are crap out of luck BUT if it is Latex you can wash it with water.
It should say on the can what it is. I would at least attempt to clean it off the plastic parts and get a new carpet.

Have you asked Lowe's to take care of the problem? You say that it was their carelessness that caused the damage.

I would have turned around and went back to Lowes before I touched a thing. They probably would have take care of getting it all replaced for you. It may be too late now but it's worth a try.
