Default GT drivelien for V6?

Will a take off GT drive axle fit on a V6? Would it be worth it (cost/benefit (or savings)) or should a v6 owner just go for this:

yes it will fit and it is stronger than the V6. Plus you could get an 8.8 rear end with gears already installed.

Do you mean the 8.8 rear end? If so, then YES; many people with V6's put an 8.8 in their car. The only real compatibility difference is the pinion flange where the driveshaft connects to the rear end. The GT one uses a different flange; you can get a 2003 'Cobra Flange' to make the adaption. Search this and online for the part number.

All parts/connections swap right over from the stock 7.5 to the 8.8.
I got ahold of a GT500 8.8 rear end and put it on mine.

Since the link the OP put up is to the Shaftmasters driveshaft, I think he is referring to the actual drive shaft and not the rear end.

Why swap from your current heavy driveshaft to another heavy drive shaft (if it would even fit - I think that the length is different)?

The Shaftmaster 4" drive shaft is great. Much lighter, car definitely drives better, and took away my vibration from the stock shaft.

Thats exactly what I was looking for. A rear end swap is a little over $1000 but a good axle is only $500. Thanks for all the input guys!
