Default ***** for MGW shifter?

Is anybody with an MGW shifter using **** that didn't come with the MGW shifter? Where'd you find it? And does the stock leather boot fit on it?

I'm a little confused because a **** is just a ****, and plenty of "just *****" can be found all over the internet. But the MGW shifter handle looks like it needs to mate to a ****-attached-to-a-shaft-attached-to-a-leather-boot-grommet. Don't see those widgets floating around everwhere, whereas simple ***** are all over the place.

I'm using the OEM **** that came with the car. I put an MGW shifter in an 03 Mach 1 that I used to own, & I used their composite ****. If you get one of MGW's ***** I think they also send a handle with the proper threads.

I use a Saleen extreme **** or a Grabberpony **** with their jam-nut. As long as you use a **** with the same thread as the shifter handle you'll be fine. If you want to use a **** without the boot attachment you'll need an adaptor like the one pictured with this ****. http://mgwltd.com/mustang2005_gripper_shift_knob.shtml

Just wondering how I could use a plain classic white ball like this...

http://www.amazon.com/Hurst-1630004-...72804&sr=1-100

That's just a ball, nothing more.

Looks like with MGW, I need the ball part of the shifter to be pre-attached to a fatter shaft like this from MGW

Ok these go and plug into the the base socket of the shifter. You have to determine if you have the sae or the metric rod on your shifter and then go shopping.

No need to buy the whole rod under the **** if you already have it.

I hope I understand correctly what you asked. my 2 cents.

Yeah its the rod under the **** that is in question. Looks like I have to buy this rod (with **** already attached) from MGW, then buy somebody else's **** if I really want a different one.

No you don't need a rod, as I said above go to http://www.grabberpony.com/index.php...d&productId=35 . Pick the color **** you want, with or without etching and a jam-nut in either frosted, polished or black.
