Default Help with CF Seibon Trunk

A week ago I was forced to put the CF hood that I was saving for the GT due to the fact that I got into a fender bender. I figured I might as well put on the trunk as well. Well when they were both thrown on, the trunk seemed as it floated because of it being light weight and the shocks lifting it up. I told the body shop guy this and he said it could be the carbon fiber, give it a few days and it'll settle. A few days pass and still the same issue. He noticed this and removed the shocks, and it doesn't fit flush. He said that is the best they can do. Any idea on how to solve this?

Those fit like sh#t anyway.
You might be able to find some weaker shocks at Auto Zone or similar...
Good luck.

like pascal said it could be the quality of the fitment, and if taking the shocks off didn't fix it I cant think of anything that would...

Wait for the Carbon Fibre to settle! lol lol lol lol lol lol. That's the 3rd funniest thing I've heard all week.

What you do is find a high end exhaust shop, it's the easiest way to find some one who's good with metal working, and get them to grind down the stock hinges a bit on the mating surface or you can also ask them to cut your hinges and weld them back together.

Yeah I dont see anything wrong. It looks very nice though. THink you can put up a picture of the whole trunk from the rear. Is it the dry carbon version or regular?

Yep, because the CF gives at each end, where the stock metal lid won't flex.
Softer shocks will solve that.

I used to have the same trunk and had the exact same problem, even after taking the shocks off completely it still didn't fit smoothly on the corners, like some of the other guys are saying, I just think it is poor fitament
