Is this pushing it?
So, I'm looking at new rims/tires and I'm going with CS40s and Nitto Invos. Here are the full plans:
- CS40s (Black) staggered 20 x 10 in the back and 20 x 9 in the front
- Nitto Invos 295/30/20 in the back and 255/35/20 in the front
- Cervinis C-Series Front Fascia
- Street Scene Side Skirts
- Street Scene Read Valence
I also plan on lowering the car (at this point, not sure how much). I was wondering if I will be pushing it with the extremely low profile tires. Should I step up the profile to 295/35/20 and 245/40/20 to avoid scraping the ground or will I be fine on the 295/30/20s and the 255/35/20s? I understand there will be scraping issues with the C-Series regardless but I'm wondering if the extra profile on the tires will make a significant difference. I prefer the look of the lower profiles but if they will be significantly more hassle I'll step up a notch.
All opinions are appreciated.
Thanks,
HT

It really just depends on which lowering springs you get. You pretty much have the same setup as far as rims and tire specs that i do (i have Toyo Proxys tho), and I would have to say, it would be a good idea to get a tire with more side wall to at least give you a little more clearance. If i remember right i believe MYGT500 said that he was planning on stepping up to a larger over all diameter tire to give him a little extra clearance.
there are tons of guys running that tire combo around here and you don't see them replacing wheels at all. seems pretty far fetched.....
I would reccomend getting the 295/35/20 invo for the rear cause thats where its going t help lift the side exhaust more rather then the front.
thats the combo I have and I am running sportlines but I dont have side exhaust though but I do have cdc aggressive wich is the lowest set up you can get up front.

I have 255/35/20 in the front, 275/35/30 in the rear with the cervinis, and lowered the equivalent of a sportline kit now. I haven't had any problems with scraping, but I have to tell you....the car really is squatted down.
I don't think I am going to go with the side exhaust only because of the scraping issue. I think I'm just going to do the Cervinis Front End and then go with the Street Scene Side Skirts and Rear Valence. That way, I can keep my exhaust running out the back and not have to worry about tearing that up by scraping it...
I didn't think 30s would fit on the rear... heh
