What do i need to install the AVH-P4100DVD?
I purchased this unit from crutchfield last night.
It comes with -
dash kit
instuctions
the required harness adaptors
What Tools and Extras will i need? any extra wire? or scotch locks and such?
Anything i need to know?
i have little to no experience with car electronics
Also I am planning on installing it with the e brake bypassed using a toggle switch.
Any info is appreciated.
Thanks in advance for everything!

Just becareful with the toggle switch, if you intend to just put the parking wire from the head unit to one end, then ground the other end, and then toggle the switch back and forth, it can work....
Sometimes the ECU, and not always, recognizes that there is an interrupt and will send a boosted signal to compensate for what it believes its not seeing, then you can have a fried switch. I have seen it happen on some vehicles but not always.
I think there's a Pioneer lockout that's still available on ebay that can replicate the voltage that the parking brake would send to the head unit.

I have the P6000DVD and I used a simple switch to by-pass the no video "feature" while driving. That's so damn annoying b/c without this hack, a passenger can't watch something. Stupid IMO.
The only thing I needed to install was the harness adapter (ordered on Amazon since it was A LOT cheaper than Crutchfield) and dash mounting kit (got from Best Buy). Looks like you probably have everything. It actually turned out to be not that bad.
