i venture to say MOST on here own a V8..not a V6...no where in there did i put down V6 owners..and of course if u own a V6...good for you..i was just stating whats good for me....if u love your V6 ..well then great...

Apparently, most look at what they think is the negative in the article.. i was just saying its great now as far as the competition... i loved my 06.. and dropped a lot of cash in it with mods...it was a awesome car....and thanks i do enjoy my 3....

lighten up people...relax...like i said i might be wrong ...but in MY opinion..and yes we all have one...if u can afford it and truly want a Mustang..MOST..MOST will buy the GT..for various reasons.. i an pretty sure 80% of the people on this site own V8..if not more..so that kinda proves my point..

at any rate we are on the same side..i owned 5 mustangs in my life and yes even a 4 1990 banger...and i love them all..didn't mean to offend..and if i did i apologize...
I have to disagree and I think if you view Ford's Mustang sells you will agree with me that Ford sells more V6s.
Now if you had said, "most want a GT" then you would be partly correct, because a lot of V6 owners now admit they wished they could have afforded the GT but to say most Mustang owners own V8s is a figment of your imagination.

I own a V6 because that is what I wanted. My husband was even surprised and proud that I opted for the V6 over a GT....why you say, because I got tired when I owned a GT every Tom, Dick and Harry would try to race me at stop lights. I figured by owning a V6 they would leave me alone. I'm sorry to say that I am wrong on that aspect because most people don't know the difference between a GT, V6 or a Shelby.

I will say while I love my Pony Package, if I ever buy another Mustang it will be a GT500.

agreed...you are right..Ford sells more V6s...my point was most people on this WEB SITE own V8s..but i do wonder what the ratio is..

Yea, I've never had more people mess with me than in the last 6 months owning the Mustang. At first i think i wish i had spent the extra $6000 for a GT. Then i think....I kinda like having a license. It's just too tempting.

I lost my license within a year of getting my turbo Buick GN in 86 and almost bought it street racing. I don't get what you guys are doing with all this HP. Cops are everywhere. There's absolutely nowhere to open a car up in Massachusetts. No place. Maybe you all live in Montana?

The other thing that pisses me off is the huge premium for the GT. About $6000 for another 100 hp? I know its not all for the engine but i don't need that ABS and traction control crap. That's for people who don't know how to drive. I could take that 6 grand and build a killer engine for the old vette.

Sounds like if the awesome 5.0 engine becomes available, it'll be a 50k car. That's just too damn much money.

If 5.0 is not coming, it would be smart for Ford to deny the rumor (that it will replace current gen GT for the same price) so that people who would otherwise buy the GT now, bought it now. Ford's silence is only hurting them, so I guess there must be a reason for it. If the 5.0 is not coming soon, or will be an expensive extra - Ford would tell us now, right, so we went ahead and bought the GT that are on the lots right now. But they don't do it..

This is really old news. Mazda/Ford have had that planned for a long time to use DI turbo engines Mazda actually used it first with the MS3/MS6/CX-7, I had 2 of those vehicles. It is taken out of context that it will replace the Mustang V8 with a DI V6 turbo.

I'm pretty sure the 5.0L Will be out next year along with the 4.6L V8 and the 3.7L V6 non-turbo. The 5.0L will be the Mustangs special edition.

Ford has not stated anything to be fact just yet.

I could care less about the V6, you got any helpful 5.0 info? Didn't think so...

i think they are silent bc they are not sure what they will do, or in what capacity just yet. plus it adds to the drama, if you come out at the last minute with details. right now all the publicity is speculation to some degree.

Ford know what they will do. It will be costly and a huge risk to try to replace the 4.6L with a 5.0L or even put out a V6 with the power of a V8. From a business stand point it makes no sense.
