I would go as dark as you can legally. Especially on white, looks very good dark. Personally I try to stay at or real close to the legal limit here in NE (35% front, 20% rear). There is no reason I would ever go less than that.

 

I plan on doing no darker than the legal limit (35% in CT).

 

Here in Texas it's a must, keeps the car a lot cooler and it looks pretty good too.

 

In CA, there is no limit on the rear window(s). But no non-factory tint is allowed at all on the front doors. That's why I went ahead and did 22% on the doors.... it is just as illegal as 35% or 50% or whatever. Since it's illegal anyway, why not go for broke. It's just a fix-it ticket. And I can get them re-done afterward for $25 each.

Nearly all cars look better with tinted windows, Mustangs included!!!!!

I went for 5% in rear quarter windows and back window, and 10% in the two front windows - wanted it real dark so I ignored the dumb *** UK laws [:@]

 

Mine aren't tinted yet.

Being a convertible, if you have them down, nobody will ever see the tint.

If I have them up and the top down, they would reflect everything on the inside, making them hard to see through, and sometimes I run them up on the highway to cut down a little on noise/wind.

I do plan on putting a mild tint on the back glass. To help keep the car cooler when the top is up, and to cut down on the glare of those SUV's riding my butt! (Although, ONLY for a short time mind you! )

I've always tinted every vehicle I've owned. For both cooling and visual effects. I've got 5% in the back three and 22% on the side doors. Laws? What laws? Here's a recent pic (July 4) taken in the southern alabama evening light, with the background obviously desaturated.

 

Mine are tinted 20% on the sides and back with a 20% brow on the front. It is over the legal limit for Indiana, but I like to live dangerously.
