Default Bad lifter?

How do you know if you have a bad lifter. i just had forged internals put in my car, and also had it stroked. I have about 200miles on this set up and now i am hearing a noise from the engine but i am not sure what it is. I hear it when i start the car and when i step on the gas. How do i know what a bad lifter sounds like? please help

start the car and have it just idle

take your hand and carefully run it over all of the exhaust joints on both sides. a leaking exhaust can often sound like tapping lifters...and the sound goes up/down with engine revs as well.

if you can't find anything, have someone rev the motor to about 1,000 rpm and try again.

after that...yeah, you need to get that shop to do some investigating

i was thinking the same thing, a 298 stroker should be ok with factory cams. Do you know what cams they put in it tho, that may be the issue..... again its just a guess.
