WebElectric sequential splice-in kit
I want to buy the WebElectric sequential tail light kit today and was looking at the splice-in kit for its price. I dont have a problem doing my own wiring, but I'm not looking for an all-day project either. Has anyone done the splice-in kit before? It seems most people get the plug and play kit. I'd like to know whats involved and how much time. I'm not really interested in doing this if it means running wires outside the trunk. Thanks all!
If you cant use the search function, what makes
you think you can install splice sequentials?
Splicer kits bite unless you solder and 2 stage heatshrink all the connections.
I can remove my plug-n-plays anytime and return to OEM with no indication
of ever having sequentials if so desired.
Splicers dont offer that advantage and become 'married' to the stang for life.
Twist and tape or those crappy IDC connectors are just problems waiting
to happen. Why go hackin wires on your stang when its not needed...???

WebElectric makes an excellent sequentials and their "plug and play" connectors are a perfect factory fit. Like the others said, you could always convert back to factory in a couple of minutes with them unlike with the splice kit where it would be a big PITA!

I can understand your intent to go with the splice-in IF you're on a really tight budget. Be aware that there have been a small percentage of people that have had their sequentials replaced under warranty due to malfunctions. In the event of a problem, you'd have to undo all that nice soldering work you had done. If you can manage, get the plug-n-play. But there's nothing else wrong with the splice-in kits. And I'm sure there are some online instructions (because I had considered them myself and saw some step-by-steps).
I'm not on a tight budget. I'm just cheap. lol. I didnt think about having to send it back for warranty. Thats a really good point, Nuke. Thats really pushing me towards the plug-n-play kit.
Yeah. the pre-wired harness swap is the way to go. Turns an all day solder-a-thon into a maybe 1 beer project. Then you can get back to washing and polishing. The biggest problem of doing anything with them is if you have a Shaker 1000, getting to the lower nut on the passenger side is annoying. But, if you got no sub, its a piece of cake.
When i totaled the '05, i took the original harness to the dealership and removed my sequential harness. Went home and installed it on the '07.

Here's a "How To by Taco Bill" on installing the sequentials;
