Default Exhaust Setup

hey guys,
on my black 4.0 i am currently running dual exhaust w/ gt takeoff mufflers.

BUT.....Here is the difference i am running straight threw to the mufflers meaning no x or h/pipe.

i have have stock headers, stock cats, and from the catsc back i have to stand alone pipes running, no crossover.

q #1-am i losing performance with this?

q#2-it sound sweet. i think it sound better than most gt takeoffs ive heard, but i want it louderrrrr. not so much driving but it has no idle, but sounds good under gas..if i delete my mufflers and run straigh pipes will it sound like ****???

keeping the catds and running pipes straight to the rear, with no crossover???

please let me know because i want louder idle and louder exhaust no such thing as too loud for me i love loud, my other 2 stang are super loud

Swap out the gt takeoffs for flowmaster super 40's. I had those on my Ranger with the 4.0 and it sounded good. IMO straight pipes will sound like ****.

It is like a straight pipe but IIRC it is more like a resonator, it takes some of the raspy sound out of the exhaust.

Curious, by not using a cross over, will it effect the engine over time? Seems like it would.

Its not hurting anything not having the cross over... cars ran that way for years and years.... they only started using crossovers in the id 80's... but you are losing a bit of perforrnance that way. The cross overs are designed to help even exhaust pressure pulses between the two pipes, increasing scavenging at certain engine speeds, down low for an H and on the big end for an X
