Ford is having a much better year. I think they are trying to rebuild consumer confidence in their product and a price hike wouldn't help that. I see the price as flat or a very modest increase.

I know right? lol.

Although the S197 is heavier than we'd all like, it handles better than any other generation Mustangs.
I suspect the next platform (2014?) will outdo this one as well...

What I shold have said is i would like the new GT's to have an IRS.

Let me edit my self now and say if GM realy dose equip the new SS Maro with only 426hp and not the 455hp that i was hearing rumors about... Well my friends we may see the first new generation of mustang GT's that can really kick the SS's *** STOCK for STOCK. How? well the mustang will be lighter of course.
All i know, is that this time im buying a hard top. cuz when i bought my Vert i did'nt do any research. i thought the vert would be lighter. But hay i was 23 at the time and it was the first new car i ever purchased.

And if you do more research, you'll find out that the IRS is just not worth it on a street car that will never have racing dampers and run slicks .
All it does, is rise the price tag of an already efficient cheap car and give someone a false sense of superiority.
Never mind that I can smoke that someone in the corners with a solid axle on a six banger.
Not to mention that the maintenance is rather expensive while being a weaker system.

And don't worry about the "convertibles being lighter" mistake... we all believed that when we were learning about cars...
