Probably not much difference. You get what you pay for... usually the cheap ones have fitment issues and are made from crappy steel, which could be an issue for you up north. I'd recommend spending just a little more money for a more quality piece. Avoid Pypes!

There's little difference between the two. Summit Racing doesn't make their products anyway. It may end up being a reboxed Pypes item. Either way, it's still a 2.5" h-pipe without cats.

I say go for it.

Are pypes bad?

I know brenspeed sells them.

Pypes is a distributor; they do not make their products. Without bashing the company, they are selling cheaply made exhaust products.

the cheaper one is made by pacesetter, the other one is summit brand. the design is a little different if you look at the pics closely. the summit one is like pypes, there is a clamp in the middle of the h pipe crossover. the pacesetter uses a seperate piece for the crossover. both use aluminized steel.

Pypes products are stainless steel not aluminized.

Ive had 3 different pypes products before and never had a fitment issue. With my pypes O/R H at first was great. After taking it on and off a few times it develpoed a leak at the collector. The problem was that the flange on the pypes H was bending and not allowing complete pressure. Aside from that its not bad at all

You could always go to a local muffler shop and ask them how much they can make one for. Sometimes it's even cheaper and you save yourself some work.

I have installed the Pypes O/R H on three different cars, and never had a fitment issue. The only thing I do is bend the hangers down level so that I can get it on and off w/o having to completely take it apart. We were buying these from Brenspeed for $139 shipped, but they went up on the price. I had way more problems with the $450+ modular bassani x-pipe, and later got rid of it for a Pypes O/R H because I liked the sound considerably better.

One thing of note is I usually ditch the clamps they provide, because they are not that great. Also, I think some of the problems people have with installing any mid-pipe is that it works best with 2 people working on it (one holding the pipe up firmly against the collector, and the other tightening the flange evenly).
