Question for anybody that has installed a Roush hood scoop

When you installed your scoop, did you do it with the hood on the car, or did you remove the hood to drill the 7 holes?

On the vehicle with a 135 degree drill bit.
Not the garden variety 118 degree wood bit....

Any more questions like how to remove the stubborn
christmas tree clips that hold the hood blanket on?

I did it with the hood on. Place a blanket or towel over your engine just in case you get some shavings. Most of mine were on the hood, I used a vacume and dabbed them up. The template was good, make sure the scoop is centered on the hood. Good luck and post pictures!

Hood on car. I didn't actually do it, the body/paint shop guy did but I was right there the whole time he did it.

Hood On.
Make sure to cover the engine and remove the hood liner. I've seen a few people drill through the hood liner. Looks like crap

Gotcha! I got the 135 degree 5mm split point drill bit. Thanks guys.

I didn't even drill it. I just used the 3M prep stuff and stuck it to the hood. Hasn't budged. This is how many body panels pieces are attached too. No issues... :) Granted I mounted mine in reverse so its slightly more aerodynamic, but I don't believe for a minute that having it "scooping" when positioned forward will make it break off and fly away. Its closed off. That thing is stuck on there like crazy.

How bout some more detailed hi-res pics of this Roush
Scoop mounted backwards.
Did it fit inbetween the WW squirters.
Intrigued here.... :icon_urinal:
