Default Any problems after getting a tune?

I am trying to get some input on whether or not to get a tune on my 05 GT and was wondering if anyone has ever had any problems out their car after getting a tune. The reason I am asking is that I had an 01 GT and bought an X3 and a tune for it. About a year after that I had to get the computer replaced because according to the mechanic "it went crazy". He did not say that the tune was the direct cause of it but I always wonder if it had anything to do with it. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

OMG, yes. MANY problems:
  1. Can't wipe the smile off my face every time I get on it
  2. Can't stop the woody every time I get on it
  3. Can't stop my g/f from getting wet every time I get on it
  4. Uses up too much fuel 'cuz I keep wanting to get on it
Other than that, not a thing. I suspect the problem with your '01 had nothing to do with the tune.

Do it, without a doubt you'll enjoy it. I started with the FRPP tune (very conservative, not worth it), I went to a local shop, then I went to JDM and got a dyno tune w/ the SCT2 Xcal, VERY satisfied! The car is totally different

If you have an auto, the results are even more dramatic. A tune from a reputable tuner is safe, and really "wakes " these cars up. Get a CAI (cold air intake) as well. One with the filter and a bigger intake tube. Don't buy one that uses the stock tube.

as long as you use a reputable tuner, you should be just fine.

I think my car needs new u-joints because I get some drive line vibration under moderate to heavy acceleration. The tune made this condition worse because it added extra torque to an already existing problem. Not the tunes fault but you get the idea. It can exacerbate any existing issues.

I understand you are worried about your car but I assure you, you will be upset with yourself for not getting a tune sooner. We have been tuning S197's for over 5 years now. If for some crazy reason you do have a problem, we are more than happy to get you taken care of. Your car will be completely different. Go for it.

That's quite a diagnosis for a mechanic. What code number was shown for "crazy"?

Don't hesitate to get a tune it makes a world of difference on a stock S197. I just got a tune from Brenspeed for my Shelby GT. It was a big improvement over the stock tune.
